Hello
I’m Ryan Hattaway, the founder of Arc Defense Engineering Solutions. I’m a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in both Electrical and Mechanical engineering, bringing a unique dual-discipline perspective to every project I take on. With years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems design, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination, I specialize in helping facilities improve electrical safety, compliance, and system reliability.
My Story & Mission
I started Arc Defense Engineering Solutions to fill a critical gap I saw in the industry: reliable, independent electrical engineering services focused on safety and compliance. Having worked on both electrical and mechanical systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings, I realized that accurate, code-compliant arc flash studies and safety solutions are essential to protect people and equipment — and that clients often needed a trusted, experienced engineer who could deliver results efficiently.

My mission is simple: to provide high-quality, technically sound engineering services that help organizations meet NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements, improve system safety, and reduce risk. Every project is approached with precision, integrity, and a focus on practical outcomes.

My Expertise
With dual PE licensure, I understand both the electrical and mechanical aspects of building systems, which allows me to provide comprehensive and precise engineering solutions. My experience includes:
-
Arc Flash Studies & NFPA 70E Compliance
-
Short Circuit Studies & Fault Current Analysis
-
Protective Device Coordination Studies
-
Arc Flash Labeling & Electrical Safety Reporting
-
Electrical system modeling and optimization
This combination of skills ensures that every study or project I complete is thorough, accurate, and actionable for facility managers, safety directors, and building owners.
